Dr. Taylor discovered that many students struggled with translating academic skills to the work environment, and felt the need to address this issue on a larger scale. One of the major challenges she identified was the lack of clear structure in the corporate world compared to the academic environment. To combat this, Dr. Taylor developed Rise Career Launch, which focuses on the four elements of rise: relationships, information, resources, and experiences.

She also discusses the importance of effective communication between new employees and their managers and emphasizes the significance of addressing employees' questions and concerns in a way that fosters a sense of inclusion and enhances their learning experience.

Dr. Ayala emphasizes the importance of making students feel cared about as a baseline for teaching, borrowing strategies from successful companies that have high levels of two-way communication, making and keeping promises, and fostering relationships. For Dr. Taylor, the emphasis is on creating an environment of mutual exchange and value-creation.
