Lia Haberman, Digital Marketing Expert, Strategist, and Speaker, named Chief Influencer

The Communications Board names digital market expert, strategies, and speaker Lia Haberman, as a Chief Influencer.

In this episode of Chief Influencer, Lia Haberman discusses with host Anthony Shop, the importance of having a personal brand and how individuals can take control of it, even if it begins as an unexpected venture like her popular newsletter. Haberman stresses the value of consistent, focused, and unique content in newsletters or other personal branding efforts.

Haberman encourages individuals to shape their personal brand in a way they're comfortable with, and shares that some of the best ideas can come from unexpected places. Haberman is best known for her popular newsletter, In Case You Missed It, which she started as a way to keep in touch with her students. The newsletter grew rapidly among the creator community and marketers, allowing Haberman to work with various renowned companies and organizations. Despite its unexpected success, Haberman initially never intended for the newsletter to have a large external following.

Haberman also discusses her perspective when evaluating new social media developments and how consistency and audience identification are crucial aspects of building a strong personal brand. Haberman emphasizes her preferred ways of building a personal brand as an introvert and mentions the effectiveness of newsletters, which she sees as a comfortable platform for expressing thoughts and showcasing thought leadership. For Haberman, it is crucial to treat internal newsletters as if they were consumer-facing. She advises making them interesting, entertaining, and brief to increase engagement. For Haberman, an effective newsletter does not need to be lengthy; a one-paragraph newsletter focusing on a single interesting topic can be sufficient.
