Ju’Riese Colón, CEO of the U.S. Center for SafeSport, named Chief Influencer

The Communications Board names Ju’Riese Colón, Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Center for SafeSport, as a Chief Influencer.

In this episode, Chief Influencer’s Anthony Shop discusses with Colón about the challenges of building trust with stakeholders, particularly in the context of her organization, the Center for SafeSport.

Established in March 2017, the Center for SafeSport was created to hold organizations and individuals accountable for abuse and misconduct, implement proper policies, and educate individuals on recognizing, responding to, and reporting abuse. As the first organization of its kind in the world, the Center for SafeSport occupies a unique position within the US Olympic and Paralympic movement.

Colón emphasizes transparency, communication, and empathy to earn trust and rebuild it when needed. In addition, Colón highlights the significance of listening to feedback, addressing mistakes with humility, and prioritizing team wellness.
