New Initiative Aims to Take on Shortage of Professional Role Models
Across all sectors of our society, what we are witnessing is a shortage of people willing to take on leadership roles in business, philanthropy, and politics. A major reason why we are seeing this is because we do not know which influential leaders to emulate. As a society, we are hungry for these role models. And we want to learn from their stories of how they have discovered a breakthrough strategy for influencing others. This is why The Communications Board has teamed up on a new initiative to help address this shortage of leaders.

Does Meta’s Threads have staying power?
Last week, Meta Platform Inc.'s launch of the new Threads social media app was heavily covered by marketing and communications experts. According to Meta, within a week of its launch, the platform had already amassed 100 million users signaling a threat to Twitter. As noted by Bloomberg, getting sign-ups is one thing, but staying power is another for social media platforms. Early predictions that it has taken market share from Twitter might be too early to declare, and Threads has a long way to go if it is not to see the same fate as highly hyped apps like Clubhouse and Meerkat.
