Social overtakes search for ad spend in landmark global shift

According to new research, social media is now the largest platform worldwide by advertising investment, having overtaken paid search last year, and is forecast by WARC Media to total $247.3 billion in 2024 — a rise of 14.3% year-on-year.

Netflix is the real winner of the Tom Brady Roast

The popular streaming platform, Netflix, has slowly been pivoting to offering more live-streamed events. Last week, it created what The Ringer's Bill Simmons called a major monoculture event even though it was on streaming. "The biggest winner was Netflix," Simmons said on "The Bill Simmons Show" on Sunday. “They just planned the perfect night. Somehow, there are no sports. It was the kind of live cultural event that barely exists anymore unless you have sports or award shows."
